| R8288: Assessing the sustainability of brackish water aquaculture systems in the Philippines |

|
The objectives of our project are:
1) To produce a typology of brackish-water aquaculture production systems in the Philippines, using multivariate statistical methods.
2) To investigate the trade-off at the farm-level between the ecological, social and economic performance of the different types of farms. This will be carried out using sustainability indicators in multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) and data-envelopment analysis (DEA) frameworks.
3) To investigate how different types of farming systems are preferred by different stakeholder groups, by analysis of the priorities of different stakeholder groups.
4) To investigate the role of aquaculture in the livelihoods of different socioeconomic groups, with a particular focus on the poorest households.
