| The Women in Aquaculture project was followed up by a workshop on "Gender-responsive aquaculture policy" funded by DFID in Bangkok in May 2000 with participants from 11 South and Southeast Asian countries. Discussion objectives were: · To review existing aquaculture policies from a gender perspective and gender interactions within the Sustainable Livelihoods framework · To formulate recommendations for gender-responsive policies and strategies that will facilitate the advancement of women through their involvement in aquaculture.
